Got stringy curls? You're not the only one, and there are SO many factors into why your hair has decided to get stringy. We have put together a few reasons, have a read through:

Over-shampooing: Over-cleansing can strip the hair of its natural oils, leading to dry and stringy curls. Try to last 4 days without washing - see our refreshing tutorial here.

Heat damage: Excessive heat styling can cause damage to the hair cuticle, leading to stringy curls. Try our HEAT WAVE to help protect your strands.

Lack of moisture: Curly hair is naturally dry, and without enough moisture, the curls can become stringy and frizzy. We recommend a hair mask every 2nd - 3rd wash!

Improper styling techniques: If you're not using the right styling products or techniques, your curls can become stringy. For example, using a heavy cream when you have fine hair is probably going to make your hair very stringy. See what products work best for your hair here.

Product build-up: Clarifying is crucial to a good curl day, product can sometimes build up on your strands, so we suggest clarifying every 2-3 weeks. See our fave clarifying shampoo here. 
- Allergic or Hair doesn't like an ingredient: Sometimes an ingredient can cause your hair to go stringy, for instance for me, coconut! If I ever use a coconut based product, it strings up badly! So if this is happening to you - you may be allergic or your hair doesn't like a certain ingredient?
If you want to revive your curls, you can try the following tips:

If you are lacking protein try a protein treatment once a month. 
- 
Apply a leave-in conditioner to help define your curls. 
- 
Use a diffuser when styling with heat to help distribute heat evenly. 
-
